My Process

I began the creation of the pipe models without the need for extensive reference gathering, given that these models are fairly commonplace.

Each piece was meticulously modeled, adhering to a grid system to ensure seamless modularity for future integration by level designers.

To streamline the texturing process, I UV-mapped all pieces onto a single UV sheet, facilitating efficient material application.

After that, I utilized Substance 3D Painter to texture the models, employing colors reminiscent of a steampunk cityscape. Additionally, weathering and grunge layers were applied to convey the passage of time, while emissive textures were incorporated to signify energy flow, enhancing the immersive quality of the environment.

Finally, I imported all models into Unreal Engine, where their corresponding textures were applied, ensuring readiness for integration into level designs.
