Visual Effects Work

VFX Showcase

In the showcased video, I've crafted fifteen distinctive visual effects as well as all the lighting present within the level, for the effects I used an array of techniques such as sprite emitters, mesh emitters, geometry caches, Unreal's dynamic chaos engine, post-processing volume effects as well as PPM effects, and intricate in-material manipulations.

Level meshes and decals are from the following Unreal Engine Marketplace packs:

Rat mesh and animations are from:

Deformation Simulations

Utilizing the Unreal Engine 5 Chaos Engine, I crafted two distinct cloth simulations: one adorning a flag mesh, while the other over an articulated character. Employing a combination of skeletal meshes and cloth painting techniques, alongside the implementation of proxy meshes and materials tailored to the characters, I brought to life a captivating flag simulation.

  • The Flag asset was create by me using Maya and Substance 3D Painter

  • Demon Character was found on Mixamo created by T. Wiezzorek

  • Animations on characters were sourced from Mixamo

  • Demo level comes from the Unreal Engine Infinity Blade Asset Pack

Destruction Simulations

Harnessing the power of the Unreal Engine 5 Chaos Engine, I was able to destroy four intricately designed objects. Leveraging the advanced physics and dynamic destruction capabilities of the engine, I engineered each object to respond realistically to various forces and impacts, offering players an immersive and exhilarating gameplay experience. Whether it's the crumbling tower and statues, or the shattered gate, these destructible elements serve to enrich the interactive landscape, heightening the sense of immersion and engagement within the virtual world.
