My Process

I began by gathering references of benches and steampunk elements to inform the design.

Next, I modeled the basic shape of the bench, ensuring it was proportionate for dwarves given its intended placement in a dwarven city.

Afterward, I incorporated smaller details such as pistons to enhance the intricacy of the model.

Following this, I organized the UV mapping of the entire model onto a single UDIM for texture application.

Subsequently, I imported the model from Maya into Substance 3D Painter, where I textured it using colors reminiscent of various metals found in a steampunk city, and applied grungy masks to simulate weathering and wear.

Finally, I imported the textured model into Unreal Engine, where I applied its material, making it ready for use by the designers within the game environment.
