My Process
I initiated my creative process by collecting reference images of streetlights and steampunk aesthetics.
After this, I individually modeled each of the three streetlights, ensuring completion of one model before proceeding to the next, incrementally adding finer details over time.
Following the modeling phase, I meticulously UV-mapped each streetlight onto its own UV sheet for streamlined texturing.
Transitioning to texturing, I imported the models into Substance 3D Painter, where I applied a diverse range of colors and grunge layers to imbue the streetlights with a distinctive steampunk aesthetic, utilizing copper, iron, bronze, and gold tones. Additionally, red emissive elements were incorporated to signify environmental corruption within the cityscape.
Upon completing the texturing process, I seamlessly integrated all elements into Unreal Engine, applying each material to the respective models, ensuring smooth integration and facilitating effortless placement by designers within the game environment.
